A pressure & vacuum safety valve with setpoints of 0.01 MPa (vacuum) and 0.2 MPa (pressure) — approximately 0.1 bar and 2 bar (or 15 PSI) — is a safety component used to protect sealed equipment such as tanks, silos, or vessels from:

  • Overpressure: When internal pressure exceeds 0.2 MPa (15 PSI), the valve opens to release gas or air, preventing explosion or structural deformation.
  • Vacuum (partial vacuum): If internal pressure drops below 0.01 MPa absolute, the valve allows air in to prevent the vessel from collapsing.
